Dell P1110 Brightness Question

My Dell P1110 seems to have the same problem with excessive brightness as everyone else's does. I am looking for a place to buy the correct resistor in order to fix this problem. I saw one user recommend Digi Key but I believe they require a $20 minimum purchase. Does anyone know of another place to buy the resistor, or would someone be willing to sell me one? Thanks

Ocean State Electronics has a $10 minimum instead of $20.

1) Press and hold center button while turning power on.
2) Keep holding center button down during degauss cycle.
3) You will be shown a service menu login
4) Release center button
5) Push center once to select first position digit
6) Press center repeatedly to scroll through digits
7) Press right button to enter.
8) Operation is timed, so first attempts may fail.
9) Code is 7711

That instruction only apply for HP p1110 which is same as Nokia 445N/445Pro.
Dell p1110 is totallly different model, manufactured by Sony.

If yours is the HP P1110, the brightness can be adjusted on the flyback transformer. If its a Dell P1110, there is no service menu or internal adjustment; its software only via a special jig connected to the service connector and service software. Do a search for P1110 brightness for various info on this.

You do not have to screw around with resistors on the HP1110 (Nokia)as this has a service menu.

The Dell P1110 (Sony) does not.
