whacking monitor fixes color

HI! I have an emachines 17" monitor and lately, I lose one of the colors. If I give it a good whack on the side the color comes back for the duration of the time I am on. When I come back to it the next day, I have to smack it again. I have experience in disecting monitors, but before I pull the back, what should I look for? Is this possibly inside the tube or a connection or what? I have to smack it harder and harder every day so the problem is getting worse!
Help!

This is most likely a dry/broken solder joint on the CRT neck board.
