I have a 19inch Sony LCD monitor, when you turn it on it works for a couple of seconds then shuts off and not back on again?? Could it be the power suppley? Any help would be a great help!

Sorry, I was thinking of the wrong monitor when i posted, its a Nec...
The PSU is fine i think, the light stays on and the monitor is getting power. you turn it on and the screen flickers to the desktop then goes blank. the lights on the monitor stay on and the buttons light up when you press them. You can turn it off then on and it will flicker again..

The problem with a PSU is the voltage may not be smooth due to bad capacitors in the PSU.

But yours sounds like backlight problems.
