What's happened is that the on/off switch in the front has gotten stuck in the totally depressed state. I can't seem to 'pry' it back or push it so the switch snaps back. Unfortunately, this state makes it impossible to turn the monitor back on.
I've taken the cover off the back but cannot see a way to look at the switch area since the front face plate of the monitor is still in tact and there is no opening to gain access. The monitor's inner-workings are protected by a metal case built around it. It looks like a monster but has plenty of screws that could be removed to gain possible access. What I'm wondering about is if it's safe for a careful person to remove this 'cage' and try to get access to the switch area.
Does anyone know of schematics of the monitor so I know if the switch is accessible with the cage removed?
Thanks in advance.
