Ok, this is feeling wierd. As I posted a few days ago, I have a brother who's monitor just died all of a sudden (It was a Trinitron F90). And a couple of hours ago, the same thing happened to the monitor attached to my computer (A Dell. . . (Checking back) Ultrascan P991) suffered the exact same problem. In both cases after the system shut down the monitors simply wouldn't display. The power on/off switch would activate the green LED on both, but the screen remained unlit.
Now something like this happening twice in a close period of time seems odd to say the least. Is there some sort of Virus that could cause this kind of error? Or even just some comon defect that could happen to hit with such wierd timing?

Ok, I'm kind grasping here, but I'm naturally worried about some sort of comon thread killing monitors prematurely that I could have prevented. Can Video cards cause the fuses to blow in monitors if something goes wrong? My brother is using a computer that had been mine and is outfited with a XFX GeForce MX4000 64MB DDR AGP w/ TV-Out video card. My new system uses PNY GeForce MX4000 128MB AGP Video Card White Box. Should I be concerned about the cards, or am I worrying too much over a fluke?
