I have a 17" hp crt monitor and have beed having issues with it for awhile, but know it seems to be getting worse. The screen will shrink from the sides
and the slightest vibrations will cause flickering on the screen.

I removed the cover and i can see sparks on the board when i vibrate the monitor to cause the flickering.

So basically im just trying to pinpoint the issue and find out what i can do to fix it. I have two other friends with the same monitor and the same issue so i think its a common issue with this model of hp monitors.

Could it be a cap that needs replaced or possibly something that needs to
be re-soldered?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi if it is sparking with vibration then almost certainly it needs soldering at this point.
