I have an ev700 gateway monitor that has a permanent vga cable attached to it. My picture frequently goes out like a bad connection. I found that if I move the vga cable where it connects to the monitor I can bring the picture back. I have opened the monitor and found that it appears to be isolated to the area where the cable is tied down. After removing the tie down I am convinced the problem is isolated to the cable. I want to replace the cable but can’t locate such a part. Any ideas? Can I slice open the cable and attempt to repair that way? thanks for the help.

After taking the cover off the problem goes away. Now it does not appear to be the cable, but rather the circuit board. Bending it slightly will cause the picture to go out. When putting the cover on it appears to bend the board to where it will not work. How much time am I looking at trying to find the problem on something like this? I am a novice at this but can learn.
