Applevision 1710 - H flicker

I have an applevision which gives a very sharp picture but developped this problem about a year ago:

In high resolutions the raster started to become wavy horizontaly, then one day it went black for all resolutions except 1024*780 @ 60hz and lower, which are working since. When I try to set it to a higher resolution the screen rapidely (1sec) gets filled with horizontal lines and then the power led cycle on and off.

After a cold start the screen flickers horizontaly (from wide to correct size) for about an hour and then is fine. Sometimes the screen also flickers yellow and then sets back.

I'm guessing a bad cap on the main deflection board?

Very common for these monitors to have multiple dry solder
joints on main board.
Remove board completely, inspect carefully and resolder
dry joints.
