KDS monitor

I work on pc's but know very little about monitors. I recently installed Linux and unknowingly clicked next without really reviewing the monitor settings when installing and overclocked the vsync and hsync on my monitor. KDS apparently doesnt have a protection as others do preventing damage. I first started to smell a burnt smell/smoke and the monitor display is gone. Now when I power on the monitor I get a series of clicks (10 or so quite fast) from the back of the monitor and no display at all. Power LED's and such still work, but no screen display.

Ive been wondering if this might be something easily repaired or if I should simply start looking for another monitor?

Apparently, nobody in this forum wants anything to do with KDS monitors (I had the same 'lone' experience several months ago). I am not an expert but I had a service tech friend look at my KDS 19 incher some time back because it had a similar bad smell / no picture problem. The short of it is this: it will cost more to fix than to just buy another good used one. KDS are fine (high dollar) monitors with a beautiful picture, but when they go tits up it is hard to find a service tech, a schematic or even parts without taking out a lone...er, loan.

Which Model ?

Most likely the line output transistor has failed if the settings have caused the problem.
