IBM P260: Long time before display shows (2-3min)

I have an IBM P260 21" color monitor that takes 2-3 mins to show the display when turned on, or when restored from power save mode.
Once the display is ON, it is full brightness, so I believe the Caps are ok, must be a resistor that has gone very high?
...and yes, thanks to this forum, this is the same monitor that had excessive brightness and that was fixed!!

Anyone have any suggestions about this long turn-on time?
Thanks for any tips

Replace two capacitors 100uf x 10 or 25v in power supply.
They are sitting next to IC651 and to each other.
I am not sure but i think they are C684 and C685.
That is in heater circuit.

I had a look at the schematic and C684 and C685 make a lot of sense in causing the problem.
I went ahead and swapped out the two caps with new ones and somehow I must have damaged the pcb,
because the front LED stays yellow even with a valid vga signal and of course the screen stays dark.

I had a close look at the board where I made the change and it looks ok, no solder flashes and continuity on the caps is good.
I'm really puzzled as to what problem I caused on such a simple cap replacement.
Anyway, thanks for the help Greg....just too bad I screwed up somehow

Did you choose right input? Try to flick front panel input
selector switch.
Check also polarity of replaced caps.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the reminders, but unfortunately the switch at the front was set to 15 Din and the cap polarity was fine.
I'm at a real loss trying to understand what went wrong. I'm starting to wonder if I damaged IC651 in the process of changing the caps with my 40w soldering iron.
Somehow the power supply now stays in standby mode. Is the heater regulator tied into the feedback sensing of the power supply? I find these power supply feedback systems very hard to troubleshoot.
...Guess I'll leave it for now and see if a fresh look in a few days bears any fruit.

Thanks for your help and suggestons

Greg,

Sometimes taking a breather and a fresh look does really help...
I found the problem!!..It seems that when replacing Caps C684 and C685,
I inadvertantly moved IC 652 and ended up cracking the pcb copper for pin 4 of
IC652 that created an open circuit to pin 4.

Once I fixed that with a wire strap, all works out great and the turn-on time
is now normal.
...Thanks for the fix, waiting 2-3 minutes was getting to be a real pain.
