Hi, maybe someone out there has a clue of what´s going on. I have a Samsung 997DF monitor, less than 6 months old. The problem started 3 days ago; after working with my computer I turned it off and no problems at all. Then the next day when I turned it on.. Surprise ! the monitor was dead. Tried replacing the power cable, plugged it to a different wall outlet and nothing happened. So I left it unplugged and disconnected from the VGA port. The next day I plugged it back in and worked flawlessly ! Until I turned it off last night and same thing all over as this morning it was dead again.
Any ideas ???

Hi Cris

Bad electolytic capacitors (small ones) can cause a monitor power supply to become lazy. Also seems to be bad soldering of course

Richard B, can you design a toilet to flush you and Rabbi Moises from monitor-repair.com?
You spend your whole day like a god damn idiot helping idiot people on this forum.
The bottom line is that you have nothing to do. You are just killing time. A retired obsolete old fart with an obsolete life.
Richard B (B for bogus), was the name Richard used as an inmate inside the prison system.
If you are the best of the crop, why you stopped on television repair?
You and Rabbi Moises may do OK shining my shoes, but nothing else.
Richard, you can design a toilet, but nothing else

Who´s this idiot ? Thanks to experienced ppl like Moses who have a great will of helping others, we can get really useful feedback on diagnosing problems on our equipment. I think you´re closer to being an asshole by spending time criticizing what others do. Go get a life instead of being so concerned about what others do.

Hi does the unit make any noise at all.

Check things like start up supply, which chassis is fitted to this unit.
