Here's a good one. I have this NEC 21" Monitor that worked fine for a couple weeks. All the sudden the screen would get "fidgity" and flicker with a "tick" noise. After a little while, it POPPED real loud and a white flash appeared on the screen and then nothing. I turned it off and turned it back on. The screen comes up, fade out and POP! its back off again. After doing this twice I stopped using it.
A friend of mine who is as "redneck" as can get, comes over and says he could fix it. After hitting it with a baseball bat repeatedly, smacking it a couple times, and kicking it around on the floor...We plugged it up and it popped once and started working fine for about 4 days. Now, Its doing the same thing again.
After reading various ideas and comments, I think it has something to do with a short in the ARC SUPPLY? (I have no knowledge of electronic monitor lingo as you can tell) Anyhow, if there's a technical "HOW TO FIX" on this monitor OOORRR if someone could find a walk through of problems and what this could be, I would greatly appreciate it. I love this "desk eater" when its working =) thanks.

BTW: I might call the redneck fixit guy again, but I'd like to try the real fix first.
