Syncmaster CRT 959NF - brightness increase button is dead

Image is almost imperceptible, brightness has been set to zero.
The "brightness decrease" button apparently worked fine...
The "brightness increase" button is not responsive...
Have you seen this before in Samsung SyncMaster CRT's
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
