Display picture does not stay on

Hello,

I have an older Iiyama ProLite 46a flat panel monitor that refuses to stay on. More specifically, after I press the power button, the picture will display for about 2 seconds and then go blank. This will continue to happen every time I cycle power. To further confuse the issue (in my mind at least) the monitor exhibits the same symptoms whenever the video cable is disconnected and re-connected as well as when I change my display settings in Windows.

I have been using this monitor without any problems and have not knowingly added/removed/changed any hardware or software at the time this problem started. I checked this monitor out with a different PC and video cable and it exhibited the same symptoms. Likewise, I checked my PC and video cable out on another monitor and they worked fine.

I've inspected all the PCBs in the monitor for obvious component damage and found none. Any suggestions on where to start so I do not have to check every component electrically?

Thanks for the help,
Mittanck

This is either backlight or inverter failure.
