Hi,
Hope you can help on this........
Computer Monitor HP s7500 (now Compaq), Model PE1163T, Product id P9008A) manufactured March 2004.
The big issue:
I am using this monitor daily but the brightness is locked on 100% and cannot be changed at all. The screen menu of CRT functions is fully accessable and all the other menu functions work fine - but not the brightness.
I've tried this monitor on other computers - same problem - excessive brightness.
I've downloaded the full service manual but has been of little help in finding the route cause.
I've searched the web and HP/compaq site for ideas but this has not been of much help.
I've opened up the monitor case, all looks very good. I re-soldered endless connections which did improve the picture (dry joints especially on the CRT Gun board). However, the excessive brightness still exists and cannot be lowered through the on screen menu.
Also I cannot get access to the additional service menu on screen (by holding down buttons 1 & 3 (I think) and powering up) - they worked when I got the monitor 2 months ago but I've never been able to get a second go at entering this menu.
Any ideas on how to regulate the 100% brightness and also get access to the additional menu of controls which I seem to have locked myself out of??
Kind regards,
Mike |
