Hey i have a 19" CRT Acana monitor (Samsung tube) the problem i believe is the vga cable, it was on its way out, i had to keep it twisted and tight to display all colors, but now its complety dead showing green really, just wondering how id go about fixing this? Could i replace the vga cable? Ive opened it up (I know the risk, didnt know it holds charge for an hour though *sigh of relief*) Have a 15" compaq monitor (Samsung tube also) thought i could just unplug it and replace the vga cable, but the wiring seems a little different, im by no means a skilled technician in the field of monitors and what not, but this monitor is my baby, had it 5 years, passed down from my dad, dont have the money to buy a new one (only 19/student) any suggestions would be dandy. Im a gamer and a 15" just doesnt cut the mustard!!

I was thinking perhaps if i get some detail on the wiring for both monitors, then i could knock something together, any input would be nice

Im in the UK, if this is any help.

Ok so i asked my dad, he said do a resistance test on all the wires for the vga cable. Ok so i pull the plug off the (top tube thing) and stuff one end in there, and the other i find the pin to see if there is a reading.. All seem to show about 0.2 / 0.5 no higher unless my unsteady hand fiddles about? So does this mean its not the vga cable? or is 0.2/0.5 too high or what?
