Compaq Qvision 210 - Image fading

This monitor is very old but still very good (21 inch CTR) I don't know if its just time but slowly the picture has dimmed and is getting worse.

I've got the brightness cranked up and I set the video card with way to much Gamma.

Is there any way to refurbish this so that the picture quaility and brightness return?

Repair hardward links and tips would be helpfull.
