I had an old Compaq MV520 (made in 98/99 or something) and the thing just up and died on me about a year ago. I've been using a monitor that someone threw out... no idead why they did it, but it works for me!

Anyway! My old monitor was making the same sound "tick tick tick tick tick" and didn't have any LED lights on, no response to even show it was getting power except for the ticking. I don't know what the problem is but I'm sick of having this BIG ASS monitor and want to use my old one again.... I've got a itch to tinker and I'm gonna pop mine open and see what I can do. If you or anybody else has a fix or idea as to what is wrong (or even a tip on what not to touch.... let me know via e-mail, as I will likely forget I posted here.

Thanks!

Have u got your monitor working . I'm working on one at the moment. I need to know the transistor Q503 mounted on the same heatsink as U601 (TDA8172).
Mine is totally burnout, not visible except D2???. What is the value ? Thanks Dude.
