I have a Viewsonic 17GS, the picture for months has once in awhile, cut in and out as it heated up...then would be fine.. The last week it has finely constantly cuts off and on repeatly.. So I opened it up and looked for any cold solder joints..nothing there.. R802 has some micro cracks in its casing, I was going to see if taping it while the case was off would reproduce the fault..but while the case was off the D613 diode lit up like a christmas tree... Anyways.. I am looking for a part number for D613 and any idea why it was cutting in and out...every time it would make a snaping sound.

Thanks

Mine just collapses to a vertical line when starting up, several attempts makes it stablize, suspect HV cut-off (rad. protc.). As screen gets smaller both vertically & horizontally then horizontal collapses (drive cut-out). Probably B+ regulator &/or its circuitry.

After pushing the on/off switch sometimes about 100X, it finally stays on (yes, sometimes hv snap, but not as bad as before as i have removed the metal cage and cleaned back of tube with water/cloth...

I have the schematic for this...email me for a copy.
