I'm having a serious problem with my Acer monitor. It has been fine for around 6 months, but for the last few, the monitor loses its picture during use and goes completely black. Particularly when it's just been turned on, although I have had it on fine for hours and it can lose it's picture.

It is not a power supply problem as the light on the monitor remians on although I have to switch the monitor off and on to resolve the problem.

It is also not a connection problem as I have tried the monitor in both VGA and DVD - I mode with two seperate computers (which work fine on another monitor) and have had the same problem.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this as I am going out of my (already quite senile) mind and am driving my poor son crazy.

Hi, have you try to shine your torch light on the screen when it turns dark. If you can see the dim image by doing so, then probably the LAMP or the Inverter is having problem. I have one Acer LCD having this problem & still resolved.
