Hello, I have a 19-inch LCD monitor made by Dell. Well, something fell on it while it was laying on its' back. Now the screen (it's not glass, it's plastic I would assume) has this little... I don't know. Indent. I can't really tell if it goes inward or outward, probably both. But there's pretty much no color in that tiny little dot that is damaged. If the background is black, then the dot remains white.
My question is, is this repairable? This monitor was EXTREMELY expensive...

From your description, it looks like you've got a dead pixel.
This is a known phenomenon with LCD type screens.
It is very unlikely that this is due to a dent or something alike.
Could be caused by the blow however.
A dead (or stuck) pixel is one that is not changing state any more.
As you might know, each pixel actually consists of 3 colors, red green and blue.
When one pixel is dead, this will result in a fixed color of that pixel.
So it can stay black all the time, but also light in any of the colors mentioned above or a combination of these.
When all colors are 100% visible, the pixel will be white.
There are test programs to find dead pixels and identify it's nature.
The program will (amongst others) cylce through 100 % black, white, red, green and blue screens.
Any dead pixel will be identified right away.
Because dead pixels are known, every producer of these screens (Dell is a brand but not a producer, by the way) has a policy about it.
Some say one dead pixel is to be accepted, some say three are as long as they are not in the center of the screen, some have mixes of that depending on the age of the monitor (one week, a month and so on).
All kinds of policies here so check what's applying to your model of monitor.
If the warranty is over, so is your luck.
If there is more damage visible to the monitor, your warranty might be over too.

Hm, yes, I understand. However, even if I get the dead pixel repaired, will the actual screen with this indent be able to be repaired or replaced? If so, about how much would all this cost?
