I recently acquired an 1100P that's just like new - the picture is perfect and everything works properly except the screen remains dim even though I've increased the Brightness control to the maximum. I can get it somewhat brighter by adjusting the color controls to the maximum, but even then it still gives dull whites and colors. It's like looking at a good monitor with sunglasses on.
I read one review for the 1100P that noted a dark screen at maximum brightness. On the other hand, many reviewers praised the 1100P's brilliant whites and vivid colors, so we know they're not ALL like this. I'm not that up on monitor circuits, but I do know my way around board-level electronics and can follow instructions. Is there some internal adjustment(s) I can make that would improve the brightness situation? Haven't opened it up yet - thought I'd ask first.
Thanks.

adjust the screen control on your flyback transformer, if that fails check the CRT heater voltage. it should be either 6.3v or 12.6, if this is okay i would suspect the CRT. Samsung tubes are notorious for going bad, and your symptons are a textbook case of one of those tubes that has gone bad
