I've got an Elo LCD touchscreen monitor that worked initially, then the menu started popping up and cycling the selections. After repeated attempts pushing the menu buttons it wouldn't stop. I turned it off, and now upon plugging in the power source it just flashes white and turns off.
Upon looking inside I found the circuit board for the controls is quite simple, just buttons, caps, and an LED. But the surface mount LED is missing, the cap for the power button is also missing, and the wires going to the board had been pinched upon assembly. I couldn't find any continuity problems with the wires. Would the missing cap, debouncing I'm assuming, or the missing LED, cause the onboard startup to error and turn
off the monitor? Any suggestions? If I need to replace the cap, any idea what value I should use?
Thanks,
