which monitor to repair

I have a Radius Press View and a Mitsubishi Spectraview. Both cannot be calibrated because the red runs out of steam before it gets level with the blue and the green. One of them must be repaired. Which is the better monitor?

I stupidly took the Mitsubishi in for repair, and am now using the Radius, but in thinking about this, the Mitsubishi has a very ugly green sleep mode that has burned a pink rectangle into the screen while the Radius has a completely black screen in sleep mode.

The repair place has taken the Mitsubishi apart and says that it needs a flyback and a transformer. I have no idea what a flyback is.

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks,
bonnie

Flyback is a transformer it is the black box in the rear left that produces the high voltage for the tube.

Hi Richard,

Thank you. Would you know which monitor is a better choice to repair? They both have the sme problem. The red gun cannot be adjusted high enough to get the darn monitor calibrated. Now I see that the Radius monitor's green gun won't move either. I tried it today with the Colorvision calibration program.

Thanks,
bonnie

Hi unless the monitor has a real (repairable fault) that is causing the colour problem as it may be tired tubes then I would not repair either, I would like to know why they want to replace the flyback transformer for poor colour.
