I have a ViewSonic PT771 that died last week. The picture zoomed in and faded out at the same time then went dead. A few minutes later I smelled burning electronics. If I turn it on the power light comes on but no picture is displayed, not even the "no signal" message. Does this sound like something that can be fixed? ViewSonic is no help. When the tech found out the monitor was out of warranty he referred me to an outside repair company that seems to be staffed entirely by voicemail. I have plenty of experience soldering modern components and should be able to do the work myself if anybody has a suggestion.
