Viewsonic VG180 Problem

Hi there.

I have he Viewsonic VG180 LCD monitor.

I seem to have a problem with the screen brightness.

The bottom half of the screen is bright and clear. As you move up and get closer to the top of the screen it gets darker, with the top of the screen being the darkest area.

I've done a bit or research here on the internet and believe it may be the top backlight causing the problem.

I have found a pair of backlights on ebay for this monitor.

Is this the solution to my problem?

Thanks for your time,

Harv

Swap the 2 lamps over if then it is bright at t he top and dark at the bottom then it is the lamp if it remains dark at the top it is wiring or inverter fault.

It maybe possible to just swap the lamp plugs into each others sockets depends on the position of the sockets and the wire lengths.
