E151FP Problem

Ok, here's the deal, I am a very unexperienced person in electronics, I know the bear basics, which is probably lower than what you would think. I am very interested in electronics, but major in computer software and as a computer technician.

Anyways, I received this monitor from my school, I plug it in, and the orange light blinks on and off when the power switch is in the on position, when off the orange light flickers every 2 seconds.

Sometimes when in the on position and plugged into a computer, the green light blinks then goes back to orange.

Anyone have any ideas?, I can solder so, I was thinking it could be a cable.

Any help is appreciated, this forum looks like a good thing here

The first thing to check is for bent pins in the signal cable.

No bent pins, I tried checking the cable with a multimeter, like taking the plug off the board and checking each pin on the connector to the svga jack, each one got continuity on some pin or another. No broken pins either.

BTW, when turned on with nothing plugged in nothing happens.
When plugged in and connected to a computer, even with a low resolution and refresh rate, it flashes orange for 2 seconds, then green for 1 or 2 seconds.

At no point does a backlight come on nor the lcd panel, no dim images shown, tried adjusting brightness, using auto key, auto key does function because the light turns green for 2 or 3 seconds, then goes back to the same pattern.

Thanks for your input
