HP P1100 problem

well i am not sure how to fix this or whether it has anything to do with my GFX card...

problem: the screen keeps movign down and the bottom comes out the top of the screen stops then does that same thing again, 1 cycle takes about 1/4 of a second....

I have a Nvidia 7800GTX whcih a DVI-VGA adaptor on it...

I really do not want to get rid of this screen... as i was given it and do not have any money to get something thats anything like it...

PLEASE HELP

You are describing vertical synchronisation problem.
This can be bad contact in connector.
If connectors are OK, this is probably bad pot or electrolyt in Vertical deflection circuit.

Most probably you have faulty IC CXA2043Q (IC007) on deflection PCB. This is deflection controller ( 48 legs surface mount chip).
Very common fault for these monitors.
