LCD with no picture and green power light on

I have a MAG LT576s model 568 lcd monitor. No matter what I do with the power button, the green led is on and flashes every 2 seconds or so. I get no picture or glow from the lcd screen. There is no image in it if I shine a light into the screen. Seems like it's stuck in the mode when there is no signal, but I hook up the cable to a crt and I get a picture. Anyone who knows what is wrong with it must explain it in detail. I understand some electronics, but not monitor terms. Things like flyback transformers and the like are over my head.

Sorry I should read more thoroughly before commenting.

I assume that the led flashes with signal and without.

Make the computer go to the bios screen and leave it there using the crt monitor then connect the LCD and see if you get a picture.

I have a NEC Multisync 1700M LCD and having the EXACT same problem. The green light just flashes every 2 seconds or so and there is no image. I know I have a video signal because if I hook up my PC to another monitor I do get a picture. Would love to know what the problem is here. Thanks, Al
