Weird CRT problem. Monitor gurus check this :)

Hi, well, long story short, I send my old Samsung 700p monitor to repair —the VGA plug was loose—, it come back with the "video circuit replaced" (as says on the invoice). Since that, when the monitor is working at low resolutions and low refresh rates (say 800x600 60hz) you get this picture.

The image is a recreation of what I see every time windows loads. Look at the dark area at the left of the screen. The problem start to desappear when you rise the refresh rate and resolutions. At 1152x864x70hz the problem is gone.

The original techinician says that it has no reparation possible. Local Samsung tech got the monitor for a month and concluded that anything can be done to solve the problem.

I work on a hight res desktop, so the problem is not noticeable, but I like to know if anyone can have an idea of what can be causing it.

Many many thanks in advance.

This may be a fault in the video clamp or blanking circuit.

Thanks very much Richard B, you're the first person to point me a hint about this I've planned to open up the unit myself this month, to replace the back plug (that still has problems) and check the circuit board. A friend of mine has experience on electronics and will assist me to try locate the focus of the problem.
