Hi

I have a flat screen monitor from Dell (E171Fpb) and it has this white line on the desktop that won't go away. It does not show through when an application window is open, only shows on top of the desktop. I would guess it is not a video hardware issue, but not sure. It is not exactly in the center; about 1/2" to one side. Thanks for any help.

I changed the background a few times but no luck, even went back to just colors. I think I may have to re-install the video drivers, does that sound like a good place to start? Thank you.

also reseat the card in the slot & check the video connector pins. god luck

Oh No!! the Persistent Pong Virus!!!! His & Hers Desktop theme? Have you spotted any icons trying to jump the fence?

Ahem.. Seriously, if it dissappears when you leave the desktop it cannot be the monitor. Redo the drivers and check your video card. Just to be sure, change your desktop resolution and refresh rate and see what happens.

I agree with Edd its the ping pong Virus, Have you seen any of the icons try to leap the net? if they all get on one side it may freeze as thats game over. But yes its the puter the monitors OK.
