I just had that exact problem. Working fine then black screen with power on. I unplugged it and now nothing. The power supply works and the fuse inside the TV is good.
Can anybody help?

Fix for GTW-L17M103

I had the same problem. Found that the 2 amp surface mount fuse at F3 on the main board was bad. I didn't have a surface mount so I piggybacked a 2 amp pico fuse on the blown one and it is working great.

Need a little more help!

Hello:

I was searching some for help with my GTW-L17M103. It too went black. I could not turn it off (power light was green). Thank goodness, I found your solution, except I need a little more help.

I opened my monitor, removed the metal cover and found F3. I see what my daughter refers to a little "white bridge" with the letters FA2 or EA2.

My questions are:
Is this the correct part that needs to be replaced (2 amp fuse)?
Where can I buy it?
What instrument or tool do I need to replace the part?

You mentioned you could not find a surface mount (not sure what that is), therefore you "piggybacked a 2 amp pico fuse on the blown one and it is working great".
Where can I get a 2 amp pico fuse?
I'm not a hardware guy but I'm not afraid to work on electronics.

In advance, I thank you for this great service you provide via the forum.

Best regards, Neo

Having same problems

I am having the same problems. Took it to a TV repair shop, they said it was the inverter board. Checked all fuses on all boards, and repaced the two electrolytic capacitors on the inverter board. The TV will turn on for a few seconds, then goes blank. I noticed the AC-DC power supply made a high pitched noise when I plugged it in and turned the monitor on. I hooked the monitor up to my own power supply and set it to 12V. It was drawing more then 4A while current limiting on my P/S, so I didn't push it. I wish someone knew what components to replace on it.

Thank you so much! I have had my monitor sitting in the closet for about a year and a half after it just up and stopped working one day. I was bored today so I figured I'd just try looking online (though I've done it many times before), and I found THE answer!

Basically, I just broke out the fuse at F3 with a small screw driver. Radio Shack was closed, so I just soldered in a piece of a paper clip. Plugged it in, and to my incredible surprise, it worked like new!

By the way, is this a bad thing to do...the paperclip I mean? I know a resistor should go there, but do you think it will catch on fire or something by just rigging it with a paperclip?
