help! can anybody help? my screen is not working. i can see the program come up with flashlight. seems i have a backlight out. the lcd is a hitachi tx41d97vc1haa. does this have seperate backlight. i can use unit on remote screen mode but have lost my mobility.is the inverter another name for backlight? this is my first time into laptop and the technical terms are new to me.where is best place to buy parts when conclusion of repair is determined. thanks for your time.

Hi the lamp/s will be integral to the screen.

The inverter is the circuit that provides and controls the voltage to the lamp/s.

Check the lid switch operation.
