Hi. I have a ViewSonic E790. Pictures appear much darker then on other CRT's.
It seems that something was changed in the colors/brightness/contrast.
Both the brightness and contrast are at the maximum.
Is there a way I can fix it myself?

I would say no, the chances are the tube is low so its beyond repair for anybody let alone glory Glorius Gloria.

It is strange. All other things looks good. The internet pages, the Icons, pictures within internet pages Etc. Only digital pictures are dark.

You have tried different monitors on the same computer? I ask as I had something similar happen to me before remembering that I had installed software that enabled/changed ICM monitor profiles. Pics viewed in ICM aware programs were darker (color temp 6500K compared to the 9300k I keep my desktop at) than I was used to.

I also tried on my Think Pad.
Hard to compare CRT and LCD, but I also connected it to my TV, and there it looks good.
