hello ...i just want to explain what happened to my monitor to help u finding the solution ..
i just left it good > switched off < and came after 3 days to find it dead.
i can repair most of electronic devices but not the monitor ,,,so if its the HOT > someone said < so ,, how should i find that HOT ,what it looks like and where in circuit ..>?
i also checked the 300v capacitor and measured the electricity on it,it has power ,,, and also measured the 12 volt regulator and the 5 volt regulator ,,,
there is 1.6 volt on each of them ...
when the monitor switched on ...NOTHING HAPPENS AT ALL ...
evenif connected to pc ,,, it acting like no power at all
no picture or sound or led green nor orange.
when switched off ...> i hear sound like "tcheo" out from somewhere ...!
and may orange led blinking for second during that...
i think its a problem of a capacitor "caps" only may fail if left for a period
please help me if u can and i appreciate that ...thx ..alot

HOT is Horizontal output tranzistor. It is BIG tranzistor on heatsink near high voltage xformer. Disconnect the Collector (in the middle). Measure resistance Between Collector and one of the two remaining pins. If the ohmmeter show low resistance, its bad...replace it. If ohmmeter shows open circuit, HOT is OK.

hello ,,,, thx danyk for info about the hot and how measured,,, i did what you told and it finally came to life again ,,, thx alot ,,,
but there is another problem occured ,,,
it goes on for about 2-7 minutes till u notice that picture shrinks very slowly from right and left towards center till shutdown and standby and open again to the same problem ,,, it works well again if has been off for a little period ,,, i wounder how many 'hot' in the monitor ,, i have replaced only one ,,, i also replaced 100uf,100v and 10uf,250v capacitors, if there is any component i should replace,,, please tell me ... and i appreciate that.
thx again for your favor .

There's only 1 HOT in monitor.
Shrinking picture before shut means (in most cases) that HOT is
overheating.
It can have several reasons:
- HOT is not properly mounted on heatsink.
- Bad replacement of HOT (when using HOT with another number)
- Weak base drive (then probably some small electrolytic capacitor near
HOT-base driving transformer is bad.)

hello .... thx alot for answering me mr danyk
i really appreciate that ...
as you said ,,, the new HOT is overheating after turning monitor on for about 2-5 minutes and ,,,, i mounted the HOT properly on heatsink and replaced with the same number C5088 , and i also replaced 4 electrolytic caps in the area of HOT : 47uf,16v / 10uf,25v / 10uf,100v / 220uf,16v
and the HOT is still overheating ,,, i didnt left it till burning , but i turn off the monitor rapidly before that ...
well ... any HELP will be appreciated ... thx alot ...

hello ,,, i also tried another HOT named c3997 , it didnt work at all , also increasing brightness has no action , i wounder if i can put a cab on the base of that HOT or a 10w 100 ohm resistor or something.
if there is an alternates HOT i should try or any thing may be usefull for this problem , anyone can tell me ... i really appreciate that ... thx alot .

i disconnect the fat red wire from the tube , and turn it on ,of course no picture at all , but there is a sound of shhhhhh , i was always disconnect it after 5 seconds ,,, when i left it about 20 seconds i heared a bom came from the flyback , i rapidly turn it off , when i connect the fat red wire again ,
and turn it on ,,,> surprise < >>> the picture is expand from center to right and left and to top and bottom , and i smell a component burning but never knew that component , no burned components on the circuit ,,, i wounder if all monitor will be burned if you disconnect the fat red wire or what could be the problem ,,, plzzz if u know anything could be usefull evenif a hint or info may help me to repair that goddamn monitor ,,, thx in advance.
