I own a Dell Inspiron 9200. Just today, I was watching a movie and all the sudden, a purple line shows up. In the middle of the screen, top to bottom. I took out the disc, restarted the computer and let it sit for a while. At first, the line was turning on and off. However, now its on constantly. I dont know if it's a hardware problem, or if there is software issues.
ANY HELP AT ALL, WILL BE APPRICIATED!!

It's a straight line. The line stays with the brightness light or dark. but it does get lighter/harder to see when its on top of a white background. over a black backgroun, its darker.

Hi the inspiron 9200 is a laptop do you mean that the line is down the laptop screen if so you have a LCD panel fault which the only cure is replacement.
You can sometimes flex the lid assy and make it come and go.
