Does anyone have (photos) directions on how to get the case open without messing it all up?

I would like to replace the inverter board but I want to see which one I have first.

Hi, I normally use a small, thin sheet of fiberglass, any hard plastic will work, you can work it into the seam between the front and back of the case, nad use it to pry while pressing down, the case should pop apart, work your way around and you are in Be patient, once you get the technique down, its like working a can opener and it does not mar the case parts.

Thanks for the info on opening the dell E172fpb case.

I finally got it but it always needs to be bent so much it looks like its going to break.
