I have a SAMTRON 78DF. The 15 pin male connector was damaged and I want to solder a replacement. I know the standard 15 pin assignments, and I can tell which conductors in the cable are R/G/B and their return, but I can't tell which are sync and ground, etc.
Internally, the ones noted below terminate into a connector that plugs into CN202 on the main board. Does anyone have a schematic that says which pins on CN202 go to these signals...
I got that same problem with a Compaq MV5500 (cable cut). Have you solved it already? I disassembled the thing and traced the lines. Then looked at a schematic for a Samsung, very similar. I've found this so far. Maybe it can help.
CN202 pin wire color DB15 pin
1 - GND - 5
2 - H in grey 13
3 - V in yellow 14
4 - DDC_DATA orange 12
5 - DDC_CLK white 15
6 - S-RASTER purple 10
7 - DDC_5V black 9
Please tell me if you think I'm right. I didn't tried it in the monitor.

Do not go by colour codes in these data cables, RGB is usually OK but the rest dont match. My normal way of repairing these is to cut the cable within the chassis and strip back the leads far enough to slip a piece of heatshrink on. I then get a data cable and cut the end off, strip it back and start soldering wires together then bing the heatshrink over the joint and tighten it up The RGB needs 2 sizes of heatshrink as that has an outer braid. Once done I wrap the lotin Aluminium foil then bring the third size of heatshrink over that. With a meter you can find most of the leads, the odd time you have to cut into the plug to find what goes where. Also remember 2 leads if not more may not be used. I have hooked black wires to white wires, green to brown etc, do not trust the colours.
