LG Flatron 1715s 17" LCD monitor. The original problem was the monitor would start up and go blank regardless of whether it was connected to the video cable. I replaced 5 of 6 caps, 4 1000 mcF, and one 470 mcF, leaving one 47 mcF not replaced as I didnt have one. After the fix, the monitor starts up and when the video cable is not connected, will stay on showing the screensaver bounce around the screen, but once the video cable is connected the screen goes blank within seconds. The "on" light stays green.
Does it sound like the last cap needs replacing or .....?
