Acer AL1714 display problem

Help please, I have a Acer AL1714 with a display problem.
I have the service manual but not sure where to start.
When I turn on the monitor (plug in to a computer) the display is all jumble up but if I press the OSD button's on the onscreen display is OK.

So you can see a jumble picture from the computer but a good OSD menu.
