The "dead' monitors all around the house, gave no consolation to the fact that I had no monitor.
To make a long,.. and saddening story short, I discovered that the reason for this 17" dell monitor's unfunctionality was a burn that severed a path of the printed circuit board.
mended it - and wala.
I was the happiest man in mandeville.
Put up the monitor to use.
changed the res. the screen got narrow and rainbow-like.
next min.
smelt something funky. - saw a lil smoke
now - it makes a low humming, cracking noise.
But at least its still powering up.
I saw sparks in the circuit board behind the CRT.
