just as the title says, i had this monitor that blinked off shortly after power on and i replaced a capacitor i found to be bad(680uf and 25v) now the backlight comes on bright white and there is no display, the osd menue does not appear but the blue light stays on if connected to a powered on pc. as well if i hit the right button the power reboots. I checked voltage of the lcd panel right before the fuse and it is only 0.68v not the 5v i have read its supposed to be, i have traced the 0.68v back to the driver board(the one with the vga input) and cannot find where 5v is supposed to come from on that board.

the lcd panel is lm170e01 and is an LG product as well as the vga driver board. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You are right about the +5v supply.Generally the vga interface board is separate from inverter power psu board.Check if there is 5v supply coming from powerboard to vga board.Maybe the fuse is blown. Also check around the capacitor you replaced there might be advertent shorts or breaks.

Ive checked the power to the board, the vga board is getting the voltage in that it should be. my problem is losing the traces before i can find where the voltage drop is.
