I need to replace the panel on my Dell u2711. The panel it uses is an LM270WQ2 http://www.panelook.com/LM270WQ2-SLA1_LG%20Display_27.0_LCM_overview_5000.html
), but I hate the anti-glare coating on this panel; so rather than having to remove the AG coating and put a glass protective cover over the panel, I'd like to replace it with an earlier glossy model, the LM270WQ1 http://www.panelook.com/LM270WQ1-SDE5_LG%20Display_27.0_LCM_overview_16010.html
). The brightness and lamps are different (LED vs CCFL), so I'm guessing the power consumption is probably different as well. Is this a bad idea? Or might it work?
