I think if everyone serioiusly takes a look at

the lack of access in and out of the leisure centre or southridge or box springs you will quickly realize that there are only one lane roads in and out and to argue it is close to the highway is not a good reason to build it in those areas. The current rink is the closest to the two fastest and largest roads in Medicine Hat and forgive me for saying this, but I am sure that the majority of people bitching about the traffic also sit in their driveways/garages listening to Bob and the 4th period so an extra 3 minutes in your car is not going to kill or upset anyone ... and for the comment that the city should keep the arena alive if a new rink is built is crazy ... too large and too expensive to keep running ... and finally someone mentioned a few weeks back about how Medcine Hat will never host a major national event because there is not the proper transportation logistics in place to facilitate it ... no one is going to fly into Calgary and bus to Medicine Hat ... so maybe it is time that Medicine Hat accepted its fate as a small town/city and be happy with that ...
