Old, but interesting. From 1998:
As a former police officer, it was with great interest that I read your Drive-Thru Gourmet column about Dunkin Donuts.
Recently, after 30 years as a patrol officer, I traded in my badge for a recreational vehicle. My wife and I now intend to spend time seeing this great country of ours.
However, I was quite concerned to read that Dunkin Donuts has outlets in only 43 states. Could you publish a list of the seven states that don't have Dunkin Donuts, so I can plan my trip accordingly?
I hope Hawaii and Alaska are two of those states because, obviously I can't drive to Hawaii, and Alaska is just a big chunk of ice and not a real state.
-- Officer Mike Riley (ret.), Houston
Actually, there are now 10 states deprived of Dunkin Donuts' delicious crullers: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Montana, Nevada and Utah.
