Does anyone know of any websites or books with good color pictures of the Oriana? I'm in the process of building the model, and I need some guidance.

Thanks in advance,
David DeJarnett

Hello David,

Here is the Oriana article in the TGOL Web site:

http://www.greatoceanliners.net/index2.html

Here are some nice color photos:

Since this is a Forum of relatively light traffic, I thought I'd be O.K. to post the pics directly.

You might want to check Google Image search for further images.

Hope this helps a bit

Good luck with your model

best

Christian

David --

Did you see Atle's Oriana here inthe Debris Field Gallery?

http://www.debrisfield.com/Models/AEllefsen/aeoriana/aeoriana.htm

Nice job on the kit, esp. the wood decks. Very colorful ship.

sorry, got the wrong Oriana.

The 1960 Oriana described in the TGOL site is the correct one. Here's the direct URL:

http://www.greatoceanliners.net/oriana.html

The cruiser Oriana seen in the pics is the wrong ship. Sorry for the confusion.

Best

Christian

Oriana site with pictures

Check out this internet site: http://www.nzmaritime.co.nz/oriana.htm
it has many color pictures of Oriana including pictures of the time when she had the corn colored hull. (I always preferred her completely white hull) By the way is the Oriana model still manufactured today?

'Which Model .....?'

Which version of the kit are you building ~ the Revell or the more recently released Modelcraft? If the latter, you may wish to reference the review written by Mike Cook, and myself, posted on the DF ~ it gives an overview of the major 'rebuilding' you may wish to consider ...... Cheers, Arjay!

Oriana

Thanks for everyone's help! I'm building the Modelcraft model. I had purchased it last year, but forgot I had it. The instructions don't include a painting scheme, which I thought was strange. I couldn't find the article that was written about this ship. Could anyone post the link?

Thanks again!

There are two Oriana kit reviews posted on the DF. Check 'plastic kit reviews' under 'products' ~ if there is anything else you need let us know. Cheers ~ Arjay!

Dear David,
I was a crew member for a number of years on the Oriana If you click on this link http://www.lostliners.com/P_O/Oriana/index.html
then on to "Simons Story" you will get my biography along with allot of photos of the ship in her working glory! Would you be able to send me a picture of the finished model?? Also is the model still available??
I can send more photos of the ship as I have quite a collection this way. Loook forward to your reply.
Regards,
Simon Lockyer.
