i'm not to concerned about the press taking so long to be notified of the
"v.p. cheney's" hunting accident. but i certainly would be "ape" if the law was not notified immediately. i know it would constitute criminal negligence in my state. i find out this morning he didn't have the proper license.
why hasn't the press released when the police was informed? and how long after the incidence was "v.p. cheney" interviewed by an officer?

Apparentily shot gun pellets have lodged in Whittington's heart resulting in a heart attack. Question...if the man dies could Cheney be charged with manslaughter?

it was 14 hours before he (cheney) was interviewed by the sheriff. although the secret service did notify the sheriff's dept.
you bet it's manslaughter if he dies. but probably would end up as a hunting infraction. by this i mean the warden service would handle the case. this should happen even if he lives. the warden service will investigate and decide if charges should be brought. what do you think the odds are that charges will be brought?
what do you think the odds are if you was the shooter?

You and I would be charged, but Cheney will escape. Democrats should be able to get mileage from this or they will appear more inept than Cheney with a weapon.

We know that Cheney is the point man for Halliburton so it doesn’t surprise me they would stay in touch.

I apologize to everyone for the above bogus link, but basically as reported on the news to day [16th] no charges will be filed against Cheney in the shooting of his friend.

The president as reported by CNN is "just fine with the way Cheney handled the incident".

once again the double standard: if no charges are filed this means anyone
involved in a hunting accident should be given a free pass.
and we all know this will not happen to john q public.
when you take a hunter saftey course:they drill in to you:you identify the target before you pull the trigger.
end of story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hunting accidents happen

Accidents of this type happen. I am a hunter and have never had an accident. Its easy to point a finger and say WOW how did this happen? I have in the past. In most cases they are treated as just that an accident. They are close friends and unfortunately one was shot. For it to manslaughter animosity of some kind must be presant or a motive? None exists. Don't you think the family would have filed charges if they thought Cheney did this on purpose?

I understand all of the above, but if Clinton's personal life could come under close scrutiny by the Republicans I think the Dems. should return the favour. Cheney is the most secretive V.P. in history and I think there must be a reason for the way he stays out of harms way where the press is concerned. For example was he drinking on that hunting trip? Did Cheney have the proper hunting license?

Clinton and his administration made a point of destroying more than a few Military careers over males fratrinizing with females in the miltary. To be blunt males having a sexual relationship with females. As a VET I was always taught lead by example. His administration was big on attacking any male that might take advantage of a female based on power. Well then as the prez who has more power? Yet look what he did. I really don't care that much about his personal life. His public life made the office a joke. Lets face it he didn't even try to hide it until he was caught. Then he acted like a little boy. If he had said "look I'm the most powerful man in the world so I tagged a little strange so what". I would have respected that more than how he actually handled it. I don't agree with what he did. I am faithful to my wife and feel when your married you should be. Although if Hilary were my wife, damn it would be hard. Maybe if he said come on cut me some slack look at who I married. I doubt anyone would have faulted him. Then again as someone so powerful look what he choose to tag. hahaha he has a decision making problem .

I hear ya, but the point I'm trying to make is elections are looming and the Dems. should be looking to capitalize on all the leverage that can muster. In my view the Dems should be more proactive in their criticism of this administration so more Dems. can win seats in the coming election. In short the Dems. should not be so laid back and act more like an opposition Party.

The problem today is to much focus is placed upon the negetive. I for one would love to see a clean campaign from both sides. Talk about what is working what we can or should do better. The 9/11 finger pointing was apalling. Lets face it both parties have been dropping the ball for more years than most of us have been voting. people voting along party lines just because...Why not vote for the guy thats right. I am no fan of GWB but I am tired of the negeative B.S. lets focus on protecting our nation against all threats. Education were suck at it on the world scale. The big 3 are loosing on the home field. We send billions in foriegn aide and we have people on the streets kids can't afford college. Welfare needs to be fine tuned if not eliminated in its present form. Taxes are way over the top. Goverment is out of control. Tell me what has either party done about this and be real....
Pork bellies are a crime committed by both sides with equal zeal. I think we should fire all of them and start fresh. set 4 year term limits on everyone. Get the special intrests groups off the hill. And for once start to listen to the common man.
If a program only benifits a few is it really good for the country? The question for any goverment spending should be how will this improve our nation not just my state or my district.
I drive by low income housing projects and I am outraged. I see bass boats atv's and newer vehicles than mine and I make a good dollar. Why are they in low income if they can afford these toys? Look at the public school system. Its a disaster. The teachers Unions aren't helping our future. Lets have standard testing no cheat sheets everyone takes the tests at the same time. Teachers who students score consistently low need to be fired. The list is endless.. But what has either party done about it? NOTHING.

I agree, but it doesn't help when one party holds all the cards. I know the system has a built in firewall against a third party, but thats what we need to clean up the corruption that is endemic when one party has all the power.

Consider the possibility of a political scene that better represents your values and the advancement of a third party.

Its true what you say but our biggest issue is the voter.. Voting straight party lines even though the candidate is useless. ie Kerry, kennedy, bush etc.
