People! Let me start out by saying I am a journalism major, so I have made an effort to not take political sides, yet I cannot help but be filled with rage at the President. Bush has achieved nothing! WE put him in office for the wrong reasons! All I hear is radical republicans talking about how he is against abortion and he is against gay marraige. SO what! Abortion is still happening, gay marraige is still happening. In Iraq our troops are still dying!!!! ANd how about we touch on the situation in New Orleans right now. I don't blame the mayor for being upset either! We pumped millions.. billions into Iraq and to Tsunami victims! Hear we are in a state of emergency on our own soil and where is Bush! SOmeone please tell me why is this man in office?? All I have to say is may GOd help America, I am through with... "God Bless America" because he has! The richest nation on earth is being brought to it's knees by our leader. May God have mercy on America.

While I certainly wa snot against aiding the Tsunami victims, I definitely have a problem with the billions spent on the Iraq war and do think it would have been better spent on natural disasters like the Katrina aftermath.

The katrina disaster was made worse not just by Bush but by the petty territorialism of the mayor and govenor. They fought FEMA for power, fought over jurisdiction hampered relief efforts and finally did a piss poor job of prevention.

I think we overspent on the tsunami. That should have been asia's leader's problem. Iraq, we have underspent, or spent on the wrong things. The fact that our soldier's are getting inadequate armor is rediculous. Priorities my friends.

Katrina is another story. I personally think Bush did a wonderful job with katrina for what he had to work with. Its not easy to restore a city of people who refuse to help themselves. What is flood insurance for? What was the early "leave the city now, a big hurricane is coming" warning for??? If the ******s in New Orleans would have spent a little bit more time trying to fix their own homes, or at the least do everything they could to help the rescue workers, then they might have done a bit better. But NOOOOO, they spent all their money before the storm on weed, and had no insurace, or job for that matter. So when their homes were destroyed, they expected the rest of the country to come in and save them, since the welfare system was down and they didnt know what to do. They demanded everything under the sun, and wanted taxpayers to pay for it. At the very least, they could have done most of the maintenence work in the Superdome, instead of trashing the place out. They could have been the ones serving food, helping clean, picking up trash... But who would demand that the sacred hurricane victims lift a finger for the sake of their own self interests??? Bush! Clearly the devil!

I have to agree with most of what you say.If the good people of new orleans would have taken some preventitive action things would not have been so bad. But as is becoming the norm everybody is waiting for the federal goverment to do everything. then they complain the federal goverment is too big, spends to much money. Hmmmm wonder how much money we would save if the federal Goverment only had to focus on federal things? And States and cities had to act like the money was limited.
