Would any conservative or libertarian poster to this Group be interested in taking part in a project to build a website which would be a centralized resource center for our side in the political struggle?

Some conservative and libertarian acquaintances of mine are planning to start a web site where anyone could go to find out the conservative and/or libertarian view(s) on practically anything. It would have both original essays and links to other sites.

It would be invaluable for our side in on-line debates, for students writing term papers, for anyone wanting to write a letter or article on a political topic, and for conservatives and libertarians in general.

But it will require a lot of people to help with doing research and writing.

If anyone is interested in this, can they send me an email and let me know?

I can be reached at Doug.editor@Googlemail.com

I would have replied further in regard to this idea when you posted it at 'American' Conservative Forum, but I was banned before I could do so.

I think you are making an unwarranted presumption in thinking that the modern conservative and those who follow libertarian theory have much if anything in common.

Modern conservatism is collectivist and statist in nature (the opposite of the principled philosophy of the Old Right and paleoconservatism) and really nothing more than Republican Party politics masquerading as political theory.

Libertarian theory remains grounded in individualism, rights and liberty, peaceful co-existance, and free markets. These are all anathema to the modern 'conservative' movement and the Republican Party. There is simply to little, if any, common ground upon which a libertarian and a modern conservative (Republican, actually) could possibly stand. One might as well ask that a libertarian stand with a Democratically-flavored collectivist/statist.

If Old Right principles of liberty, individualism, peace, and free markets are what you want, stick with already established libertarian sites such as Lewrockwell.com or the von mises institute.
Yours,
Issodhos

Any true libertarian would want nothing to do with the Republicans. You need to organize a group to fight against the Bush administration's policies. Government has gotten bigger every single year under his watch and the national debt has grown bigger every single year also. Bush is not a conservative.
