For many years the United States has been an unconditional supporter of Isreal. The reasons given. Isreal is our strongest Friend In the Middle east. In the last 6 years they have received upwards of 240 billion dollars in aide from the American tax payer. Isreal money wise has the same GNP as Italy or Spain. Isreal is a fraction of their size. In other words Isreal is quite wealthy. Now lets talk about what our aide has bought for us.
1967. Isreal attacked an american intellegence ship in the Med. The pilot of the lead jet accurately identified the ship as american. USS Liberty. Isreal attacked with extreme predjudice. Several waves of attack planes, followed by torpedo boats. Over 30 sailors died in the attack. The attack was brought t a halt when a soviet destroyer arrived on the scene. @ US carrier battle groups were in the area but were ordered to stand down by Macnamara and LBJ.
Isreal has spied on the US stole secretes and sold them to the Soviet Uninion and peoples republic of China. A comparison would be us selling Isreali secretes to Syria or Iran.
Isreal makes no appologies for these misdeeds.
Tensions in the Middle east revolve around Isreal. Isreals treatment of the Palestinians if done by anyone else would result in US intervention. Instead we turn a blind eye.
Why do the Muslems hate Americans? They don't, they hate the US goverment and its ties to Isreal. Its unconditional support.
Think about it 240 billion in 6 years. How many american kids could attend college for that same money? My question is simple. Is Isreal really worth the price tag?They can easily support themselves and the US would free of 1 millstone.

No, we should end our alliance with Israel. It is a totally one-sided alliance. If we are invaded by another country is Israel going to come to our aid? No. They can't move troops because they're surrounded by Muslims. We're basically paying for their national defense, which is not the responsibility of the American taxpayer.
